It’s a continued trial date for a man accused of causing death while operating a motor vehicle.

23-year-old Raudel Nunez is accused of causing a crash that resulted in the death of Pedro Beltran at U.S. 33 and C.R. 146.

A statement from a witness told police that a GMC Sierra, driven by Nunez, had passed him in a no-passing zone at high speed, then crashed into the Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Beltran.

Beltran was pronounced dead at the scene, and Nunez attempted to identify under another name, but eventually confirmed his identity and was found to have THC and cocaine present in his system.

His trial was continued from September 18 to May 6.
