A 57-year-old man was arrested on Sunday, July 23, for resisting law enforcement after fleeing during an investigation.

Elkhart police were dispatched to the Johnson St. Kroger grocery store for a potential theft incident.

According to investigators, an officer made contact with the suspect, Nelson Bonds, who provided his name and then ran out of the store.

A second officer approached Bonds in the parking lot and deployed his taser after Bonds ignored his orders, but the suspect still fled, causing a 10-minute pursuit.

After stopping the vehicle, Bonds allegedly refused to exit the vehicle and had to be physically pulled out.

He was arrested and booked into the Elkhart County Jail on multiple charges.

A man at 57 should know know better to behave like a teenager. His stupid incident on his part will cost more than stolen groceries.
