A St. Joseph County woman is facing charges after reportedly starting her own home on fire.

It happened late last week when deputies were called to Ottawa Drive in Sherwin Township to assist in locating a suspect.

When they tried to contact 67-year-old Mary Ann Finney, she reportedly refused to leave.

A search warrant was drafted, and after Finney still would not leave, she started a fire inside the home.

Finney was booked into the St. Joseph County Jail on felony arson of real property, assaulting a police officer and resisting and obstructing police.
