A former Lakeshore Public School teacher who pleaded guilty to criminal sexual conduct back in April has learned his sentence.
Perry Heppler, 66, who taught second grade, was arrested earlier this year on one count of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree and three counts of criminal sexual conduct in the second degree.
Lakeshore administrators contacted Lincoln Township Police when the student came to them with the allegations.
Heppler, who’d been with the district for more than 25 years, resigned prior to the underaged victim coming forward.
He’s been ordered to spend 3 and a half to 6 years in prison out of a maximum years behind bars. He must register as a sex offender and wear an electronic monitoring bracelet.
