SWAT Situation on Lincolnway West in Mishawaka ends safely

A stretch of Lincolnway West in Mishawaka was closed due to a SWAT situation near the 100 Center.

According to ABC-57 News, South Bend Police tried to conduct a traffic stop when one person in the car ran into an apartment house on Taylor Street.

A second person in the car was detained.

Officers on scene surrounded the apartment house on the corner of Lincolnway and Taylor.

A woman and man were both apprehended and taken away in handcuffs, though it is unclear if they were connected.

UPDATE: Officials indicate just before 5:30 p.m., the subject of the standoff was arrested and taken from the area.
