Two crashes early Wednesday morning, Nov. 14, in Cass County sent people to the hospital.

The first happened around 12 a.m. at the corner of Brownsville and Walnut Roads. A 33 year-old from Belding, Michigan was injured after he failed to negotiate a turn and crashed head-on into a tree. He was transported to Elkhart General Hospital and the Sheriff’s Department believe Alcohol and Drugs contributed to the crash.

The second crash involved a deer. It happened around 5:30 a.m. in Porter Township. A 56 year-old Jones man hit a deer and was then rear-ended by another vehicle driven by a 32 year-old Edwardsburg man. The driver of that second vehicle was transported to Three Rivers Hospital. The Jones man was uninjured. Alcohol was not believed to have been a factor in the crash.
