JONES, Mich. (AP) — Authorities say a propane tank explosion and fire at a camp in southwestern Michigan has injured a worker.

The Cass County sheriff’s office says a facilities manager at Bair Lake Bible Camp in Jones was doing maintenance work at a cabin Sunday when a propane tank exploded. A statement says 44-year-old David Stiles was airlifted to a hospital.

The sheriff’s office says a fire at the cabin was put out by the Newberg Township Fire Department. The explosion’s cause is under investigation.

Updates posted on the camp’s Facebook page say Jones was hospitalized in critical condition with burns and no children were at the camp at the time. Drew Gardner, the camp’s executive director, tells WSBT-TV that camp will continue this week and there are additional accommodations for campers.
