A traffic stop on the Indiana Toll Road near the Howe exit led to drug charges for two New Jersey residents.

23-year-old Jessica Bird was pulled over for speeding at the 121 mile marker. However, the trooper became suspicious of potential drugs in the car and called a K9, who confirmed the presence of narcotics.

Inside the vehicle, offices allegedly found a duffel bag with three pint jars with suspected marijuana, 29 bottles containing waxes, marijuana plant materials, 50 boxes of liquid THC, and a small digital scale.

Officers believe Bird and her passenger, 20-year-old Christian Isaken, bought the items in Utah and were on their way back to New Jersey to resell them. Both were taken into custody on the following preliminary charges:

Jessica A. Bird

  • Possession of marijuana
  • Possession of paraphernalia

Christian J. Isaken

  • Dealing marijuana
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Possession of paraphernalia
