There’s a new way to get around South Bend.

The City of South Bend revealed its new bike-sharing program called LimeBike. It’s a fleet of lime green bikes that can be found on downtown sidewalks and accessed via your smartphone.

You download the LimeBike app, add a credit or debit card, let the app find your location, pick a bike near you, scan the QR code on the bike, enter the license plate number, and then ride away.

Rides cost $1 for every 30 minutes of use, or 50 cents every 30 minutes if you’re a student. When you’re done, you can just leave the bike anywhere after you lock the bike. This prevents theft while also preventing additional charges to your card.

The city will roll out 210 bikes this week, with over 500 more in the ensuing weeks. South Bend is one of only three cities that currently have the program. The others are Greensboro, NC and Key Biscayne, FL. It’s coming soon to Seattle, WA.

LimeBike will be free in South Bend from Tuesday until Sunday.
