There’s a chance your favorite park in South Bend could see some changes in the future.

The South Bend Department of Venues, Parks and Arts is in the final planning phase to revitalize the public areas along the waterfront, according to ABC 57.

The development plan covers roughly 8 miles of the St. Joseph River, and it has been in discussion since August.

South Bend officials hope park renovations near the river will attract more people to Downtown South Bend. Some of the changes include a wetland habitat, a splash plaza, and a new ice rink.
