Almost a year after it was announced, the Edison Lakes YMCA will open its doors in Mishawaka on Saturday, June 25.

The new YMCA is at 205 W. Edison Road in the building the once houses the Pinnacle Gym. YMCA of Michiana members in South Bend will be able to use both the South Bend and Mishawaka locations.

Edison Lakes YMCA will have a gymnasium, group exercise rooms, a racquetball court, strength and weight training spaces and a spinning room, as well as free child care programs for guests using the gym.

Anyone who joins the YMCA on or before June 25 will pay $6.25 for the first month plus the $50 joining fee. Anyone who joins from June 26 to July 25 will pay no joining fee.

A grand opening event is planned from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Edison Lakes YMCA, and guests can try out the facility for free.
