The getaway driver in a fatal armed robbery has taken a plea deal.

Danisha Sarll, 21, pleaded guilty Thursday to aiding armed robbery with a deadly weapon. The Level 3 felony carries a sentence of three to 16 years usually, but prosecutors agreed to sentence her to the minimum of three years in prison, followed by seven years of probation, according to the Elkhart Truth.

Her formal sentencing will take place Feb. 9.

Sarll admitted to driving Tyrell Beavers, Shyla Southern, Joemongee White, and a 14-year-old boy to and from Brandon Jackson’s apartment in June of this year. Sarll heard gunfire from the apartment on the 200 block of West Garfield Ave. She later learned that Jackson had been shot.

The group left with a stolen Playstation 3. Authorities later found Jackson dead inside the apartment.

Beavers, 19, was sentenced in November to 45 years in prison for murder, despite a last-minute attempt to withdraw his guilty plea.

Southern, 19, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for armed robbery.

White was only arrested in mid-December. He’s been charged with being an accessory to murder and will have a jury trial on March 20.

The 14-year-old will have a hearing on Jan. 20 in juvenile court to see if the teen will be charged as an adult.
