Three teenagers are in trouble for more than just allegedly breaking into cars.

Elkhart Police have arrested two 13-year-olds and a 16-year-old on charges of resisting law enforcement. However, they could be responsible for much more, according to the Elkhart Police Department.

At around 7:30 a.m. Saturday, police investigated reports of people breaking into vehicles along the 1700 block of Rainbow Bend. There, a witness tipped police off to who and where the suspects were.

That led police to the 1200 block of S. Nappanee St., where got a report of people throwing rocks at a building. When officers arrived, the suspects immediately fled. They didn’t get far and were taken into custody.

More charges could come later.
