Person of interest in deadly double shooting pinpointed by Elkhart Police

Elkhart Police have identified a person of interest in the deadly double shooting that took place on Tuesday, Sept. 20.

Officers arrived in the 400 block of State Street where they discovered two male victims, suffering from gunshot injuries, according to Sgt. Chris Snyder with the Elkhart Police Department.

The victims, Antonio McClain, 29, and Anthony McClain, 25, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Both victims are from Saginaw, Mich. but were currently living in Elkhart.

At this point in the investigation it appears there was an altercation, which lead to the gunfire, causing the deaths, Snyder stated.

Homicide detectives were able to gain some information from witnesses, while other witnesses have refused to cooperate with the investigation, Snyder stated.

Police have not released the name of the person of interest.  No arrests have been made at this time.
