Weekend thunderstorms and at least two tornadoes that rolled through the midwest are expected to give way to a blistering hot and sticky week.

Temperatures are expected to reach 90 degrees by Thursday.

As far as the forecast for Michiana, ABC 57 Meteorologist Greg Bobos called for the following on Monday, July 18:

  • Monday: Partly sunny, scattered storms early in the day, highs in the mid 80s.
  • Tonight: Mainly clear, lows in the low 60s.
  • Tuesday: Sunny, highs in the low 80s.
  • Wednesday: Sunny, highs in the mid 80s.
  • Thursday: Mostly sunny, highs near 90. A pop-up t-storm cannot be ruled out.

There is a possibility of a heat wave beginning Thursday and extending into next weekend with highs into the 90s, according to Bobos.

The humidity could to make the temperatures feel like it’s near or above 100 degrees.
