Gas prices in the South Bend area are expected to jump 15 cents over the next 24 hours.
That’s according to GasBuddy, which monitors gas prices throughout the country.
The rise is likely a result of a new report from the U.S. Energy Information Administration, which Patrick DeHaan with GasBuddy said created some unpredictability in the market.
Gas prices have noticeably dropped in Michiana over the last few weeks. The average cost before the spike was about $2.04 per gallon.
ALERT: #GasPrice declines in the #GreatLakes we’ve seen are going to fade and a price hike may soon hit (today or tomrw) in MI, IN and OH.

ALERT: #GasPrices appear to be rising to $2.19 in #Indy (likely based on pre-EIA rise in wholesale prices). Hike isn’t likely to last long.
