Several laptops, phones and tablets issued to members of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department were seized by Indiana State Police this week in connection to the allegations against Kosciusko County Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine.
Investigators believe the items contain evidence connected to Warsaw Police Det. Paul Heaton, whom Rovenstine is accused of threatening, according to our news partners ABC 57.
In March 2014, the Warsaw Police Department requested that the KCSD record all of the visits and phone calls of inmate Kevin Bronson and revoke his special privileges, but ISP investigators say Rovenstine didn’t do that.

Rovenstine is accused of threatening Heaton on July 2 and Aug. 14, 2015, commenting that he had investigators too, ABC 57 reported.
ISP investigators believe that the sheriff’s department launched a retaliatory conduct-related investigation into Heaton sometime between July 30 and Oct. 5.
Rovenstine was indicted last month on three charges of bribery, one count of intimidation, one count of assisting a criminal and five counts of official misconduct. He’s accused of accepting bribery money from Bronson and one of Bronson’s visitors in exchange for special treatment.
